Discontinuation of the Thesis/Treatise/Dissertation Manuscript Fee and Associated Service
The Graduate School will no longer provide a DVD copy of the final dissertation, thesis, or treatise to the graduate student author and the major professor. The expense for the materials has been covered by the Thesis/Treatise/Dissertation Manuscript Fee (referred to as a Binding Fee in the Graduate Bulletin) however, the time required by personnel to provide this service is large and is not covered by the fee. At no charge, students and faculty will still have access to download the Electronic Theses, Treatises and Dissertations (ETDs) online from FSU's digital library. The student will also be able to burn copies of the document to a DVD if so desired.
This change is effective immediately and the Graduate School will not provide a DVD for ETDs cleared for Fall 2009 and beyond. The fee for this service will no longer be charged and the Library is taking steps to refund those students who have already paid the fee for Fall 2009.
