The Graduate School is responsible for implementing graduate policies and for providing broad oversight of graduate education at the University.

Note: Units planning to submit proposals to the Graduate Policy Committee (GPC), a standing committee under the Faculty Senate, need to establish their intent to file by the end of the third week of the semester in which they plan to file. Please contact James Beck for more information.


Graduate Policy Committee

The GPC is a standing committee of the Faculty Senate which is responsible for considering University-wide policy issues relating to graduate education. Detailed information regarding GPC meeting time/locations, minutes, and policy updates can be found on the GPC Website. For questions, please contact James Beck.

Graduate   Enrollment Management Committee

The GEMC meets once every month and is chaired by the Dean of the Graduate School. It brings together representatives from departments and colleges, admissions and records, the Library, Health Center, and many other units to discuss matters and share ideas pertaining to the admission, retention, and recruitment of graduate students.

Graduate Policy and Procedures Subcommittee

The Graduate Policy and Procedures Subcommittee is chaired by the Senior Graduate Policy Program Coordinator in The Graduate School and is comprised mostly of assistant and associate deans from academic colleges who oversee graduate education matters.
