Florida State University offers an extensive range of graduate and professional programs. Graduate education at FSU includes over 121 degree programs at the master’s level, 24 degree programs at the specialist level and 78 degree programs at the doctoral level. Professional degrees are also offered in Law, Nursing and Medicine.

In addition, a variety of opportunities are available for students interested in advanced degrees including interdisciplinary degree programs, dual degrees, graduate certificates, joint degree pathways, combined bachelor's/master's pathways and direct-entry pathways.

Combined Bachelor's/Master's Pathways, Direct-Entry Pathways

Combined bachelor’s/master’s pathways provide academically talented undergraduate students an opportunity to complete both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. Direct-Entry Pathways are a type of combined pathway structured such that the curricula for two academic degrees are interwoven.

Doctoral Degree Programs

Florida State University offers over 78 doctoral degree programs.

Dual Degree Programs

Dual degree programs are those in which two degrees are earned simultaneously when a student is accepted by both departments/programs and is approved by the appropriate deans.

Joint Graduate Pathways

Joint graduate pathways provide qualified master’s students with an opportunity to earn two master’s degrees or master’s/ professional degrees from two academic degree programs. Joint graduate pathways share academic content that allows a student to expand their breadth of knowledge and content expertise to include additional domains not covered in a single degree.

Online Academic Degree Programs

Florida State University offers several online academic degree programs as alternative access for students who otherwise would not be able to further their education and advance their careers.

Professional Degrees

Florida State University offers professional degrees in Law and Medicine. In addition to these traditional professional degrees, FSU also offers the Professional Science Master's in Computational Science, Professional Science Master's in Aquatic Environmental Science, and the Professional Master's in Applied American Politics and Policy.
