Research and Scholarly Integrity

FSU has implemented a new RCR training policy for all postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students supported by National Science Foundation funding to ensure compliance with NSF's new responsible conduct training requirement effective January 2010 (see Chapter IV part B of NSF's Award and Administration Guide).

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) can be broadly defined as the ethical and responsible practice of research in the following areas:

Avoidance of Research Misconduct
Human Subjects
Data Acquisition, Management, Sharing, and Ownership
Publication Practices and Responsible Authorship
Peer Review
Mentor / Trainee Responsibilities
Conflict of Interest and Commitment
Collaborative Science
Animal Welfare
