My research interests span the fields of meteorology, oceanography, and biogeochemistry. I am currently researching carbon dioxide exchange between the ocean and atmosphere in the Arctic Ocean, a region undergoing immense change as global average temperatures increase. Quantifying the carbon dioxide exchange provides insight into the physical processes at work in the Arctic, as well as contributing to global carbon cycle research.

As an undergraduate, I was named a Hollings Scholar by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. As part of that scholarship program, I had the opportunity to intern and conduct research at the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center with the Hurricane Hunters. I even got to go on a research flight with the crews and observe how aircraft field work is done!

Meeting and conversing with other high achieving students has been rewarding and fun! It is interesting to speak to students across many disciplines and realize how vast academia is.
